Tanya recalls her Grandfather’s advice: “Don’t do anything to your lawn until the soil is warm enough to walk on barefoot”. This helps protect the delicate grass roots, which can be vulnerable after the winter’s cold, dry, wet conditions.

Repair fertilizing program for lawns

Not all lawn fertilizers are created equal, and different programs cater to various lawn care needs. Is your lawn looking patchy and in need of some TLC? The Repair Fertilizing Program is designed to thicken and repair damaged lawns, covering approximately 2000ft². 

The Royal City Nursery program includes:

• 1 Root Rescue 180g (4 sachets included)
• 2kg of Overseed Grass Seed
• 3 bags Fafard 42L Viva Lawn Repair Soil Mix
• 1 bag of Actisol Spring and Summer Fertilizer 12kg (Steps 1 & 2)
• 1 bag of Fafard Fall Fertilizer 12kg (Step 3)

Application Tips:

• Rake the lawn to remove dead thatch
• Mix 1 sachet of Root Rescue with each bag of Viva Lawn Repair Soil
• Mix the 4th sachet with the grass seed before spreading
• In early Spring, spread evenly across the lawn or use to fill patches, water after complete
• Apply the bag of Spring and Summer fertilizer anytime between mid-June and early July
• Apply the fall fertilizer between mid-September and late October

Standard fertilizing program for lawns

If your goal is to maintain a healthy, green lawn, the Standard Fertilizing Program is for you. Covering approximately 2000ft². 

The Royal City Nursery program includes:

• 2 bags of Acti-Sol Spring and Summer Fertilizer 12kg (Steps 1 & 2)
• 1 bag Fafard Fall Fertilizer 12kg (Step 3)

Application Tips:

• Apply one bag of Spring and Summer Fertilizer anytime from late March to mid-May
• Apply the second bag of Spring and Summer Fertilizer in late June or early July
• Apply the Fall Fertilizer between mid-September and late October

Weed Suppression Fertilizing Program for lawns

This program is our best seller & for good reason! For those battling weeds like dandelions and crabgrass, the Weed Suppression Fertilizing Program is a top choice. This program covers approximately 2000ft².

The Royal City Nursery program includes:

• 2 buckets 9kg Evolve Corn Gluten (covers 1000ft² each)
• 1 bag of Acti-Sol Spring and Summer Fertilizer 12kg (Steps 1&2)
• 1 bag of Fafard Fall Fertilizer 12kg (Step 3)

Application Tips:

• Apply the Corn Gluten when the forsythia are in bloom (April)
• Apply the Spring and Summer Fertilizer between mid-June and early July
• Apply the Fall Fertilizer between mid-September and mid-October
