A well-made handbag is worth its weight in gold, and there are a couple of ways to tell if you’ve found one. Hardware (chains, clasps, rings) are one of the first pieces to look at. If the classic handbag you find is cute but equipped with cheap plastic hardware, we recommend continuing your search. Also, take a look at the stitching. Good quality handbags will have even stitching, both inside and out (i.e., each stitch is the same size). If it is uneven, it was probably not made very well.
